AUTHOR & ARTIST BIOGRAPHIES (Mrs. Cuneo's classes)

Biography in Context Database

1. Click on the link on the right for Biography in Context >>>>
(from home you will need a password: you can find this on pg. 11 in your agenda book)

2. Search for your individual in the search bar of the database
(If more than one entry comes up, make sure you click on the correct person)

3. When you are on the page for your individual, you'll see different sources to click on
     a. Reference is very helpful - click View All next to reference
     b. You can also try the links for News or Magazines. Click "view all" to see everything

4. You must use at least ONE source from this database.

5. This database cites your articles for you!
    a. scroll towards the bottom of the article where it says “Source Citation”
    b. copy this (DO NOT include the URL. This is an online database, not a website)
    c. LOG IN to EasyBib (use your school-issued Chrome email and password)
    d. if you have not already done so, create a new project (name it) and choose MLA 7
    e. click the blue "Bibliography" link under your project's name to open your project
    f.  in the source type tabs, choose “All 59 Options”
    g. on the left, choose “Write/Paste Citation”

Websites

Here are some good websites to try. If your artist is not listed, ask for help. Remember, not every website is trustworthy and authoritative.
When in doubt about the quality of a website, ask Mrs. Newman or choose a different source!

1. Biography Channel

2. Famous Gravestone Search

3. Poet Biographies

Citing your Website in EasyBib

1. LOG IN to EasyBib (use your school-issued Chrome email and password)

2. Copy the website's URL (http://...) and paste it into EasyBib while you are in the Website tab

3. Add any info EasyBib may have not been able to find but that you see on the website (like dates, authors, publishers)

4. Fix any errors EasyBib may have made (like wrong titles, capitalization)

When all your citations are in EasyBib (and you’ve checked them all for corrections), you are ready to export to Word!

1. Make sure you are logged into EasyBib using the Chrome web browser

2. Make sure you have the required amount of sources as noted by your teacher

3. Click the orange “Export or Print” button. Choose “Print as Word Doc”

4. When your file downloads (bottom left hand corner of Chrome), open it in Word

5. Add your name to the top (preferably in the "header")

6. Save it as something recognizable in your H drive (ex: Artist Works Cited)

7. Print and turn your works cited in
