Possible Websites for Artwork

Note 1: These are not the only websites you can use, but they are definitely authoritative. Do not choose random websites with your artist's paintings. If you cannot verify the source is authoritative (think: a gallery or museum where the painting is), do not use it!

Note 2: Remember, you may not reference the pieces of art you discussed in class, so avoid the following works: The Storm on the Sea of Galilee (Rembrandt), A Sunday on La Grande Jatte (Seurat), Fanny/Fingerpainting (Close), The Card Players, ca. 1892–96 (Cézanne)

Paul Cézanne
  • The Metropolitan Museum of Art: Cézanne
  • National Gallery of Art: Cézanne
  • The National Gallery, London: Cézanne
  • MoMA: Cézanne (scroll to where it says "22 works online")

Chuck Close
  • The Metropolitan Museum of Art: Close
  • National Gallery of Art: Close
  • Contessa Gallery: Close  (use arrows to browse works or click "more works")
Georges Seurat
  • The Metropolitan Museum of Art: Seurat
  • National Gallery of Art: Seurat
  • The National Gallery, London: Seurat (scroll to "related paintings")
  • MoMA: Seurat (scroll to where it says "8 works online")

Rembrandt van Rijn
  • The Metropolitan Museum of Art: Rembrandt
  • National Gallery of Art: Rembrandt (scroll to "works of art")
  • The National Gallery, London: Rembrandt (scroll to "related paintings")
  • Rijksmuseum, Amsterdam: Rembrandt (scroll to bottom and use arrows to browse art)

Citing a Work of Visual Art Viewed Online (AKA: art you see on website):

  1. Make sure you are logged into Noodletools and have created the project you want to put citations in (note: you MUST choose the Junior citation level for this, NOT Starter)
  2. Choose +Create a New Citation. Then pick Website > Work of Visual Art
  3. Fill in the template, using the website you are citing as reference. See the tutorial video on the right for step-by-step instructions on how to do this.
  4. Make sure to click Save when you are done to finalize and create the citation.
  5. Repeat these steps for every piece of artwork you are using in your Biopoem.

To Create Your BioPoem

  1. Find the assignment in Classroom
  2. Open the assignment and find where it says "Your Work"
  3. Click "Create" and then "Slides"
  4. Make sure to work in this created document. It is connected to the correct assignment in Classroom. DO NOT go to your Drive and create a presentation.

Exporting Your Citations and Adding to Your Slides

  1. Ensure you have cited ALL sources you plan on citing and that they are cited properly.
  2. Choose Print/Export and then Print/Export to Google Docs
  3. When your works cited opens, copy the words on your exported works cited (including the title "Works Cited") and paste the works cited into your last slide in your presentation. DO NOT adjust anything. The formatting is correct.
