PLANTS

In gathering the information necessary to construct your plant presentation, use the following two required sources. If you use any additional sources, make sure to use only authoritative websites (not Wikipedia, Answers.com, etc.).

1. The eBook called The Secret Lives of Plants!
  • Go to Destiny
  • Login to Destiny using your school username and password (NO @nburlington.com)
  • Search for the book The Secret Lives of Plants!
  • Click the title to open the title details
  • Click "Open" to open the eBook
  • For help with citing this eBook, use this document.

2. Cornell University's Flower Growing Guide website
  • Need help using this website? Check out this screencast by Dr. McLean: Cornell's Flower Growing Guide
  • To cite this website: open your Plant project in Noodletools. Then click the Sources tab at the top
  • Create a new citation. Choose website > web page
  • Fill in the appropriate information. You should have all elements for the template (except an author), so make sure to fill in the pieces correctly.

Exporting Your Citations From Noodletools
  1. Ensure you have cited ALL sources you plan on citing and that they are cited properly.
  2. Choose Print/Export and then Print/Export to Google Docs
  3. Your work cited document should open automatically (named "Sources for [Noodletools Project Name]") DO NOT adjust anything. The formatting is correct.
  4. Then, add your works cited doc to the assignment in classroom by clicking Add > Google Drive. Attach your works cited document.

Make sure to provide in Classroom the link for your presentation!
  1. Find the assignment in Classroom
  2. Click the link button
  3. Paste in your link - ENSURE THAT YOUR LINK IS VIEWABLE BY EVERYONE, NOT JUST YOU!*
*Each presentation tool has a different way of getting a publicly accessible link for your project. DO NOT just take the URL from the top of your screen for your project. If you are unsure how to get a public link for your project, ask us!
