EXPLORING AG AROUND THE US

Picture
*Guide to using the following sources and finding the correct info*
Resources
Remember to use Control F to help find specific keywords on a electronic source (Mac users use Command F)

1. Required source: State Farm Facts through Agriculture in the Classroom
  • For the date of publication, go to the bottom of your page. It should give you a month (in number form) and year. Leave out the DAY in Noodletools, but fill in your month and year. e.g.: 7/10 would be July 2010
  • Skip author, there is none listed
  • For article title, use: A Look at ___ Agriculture (fill in the name of your state)
  • For website title, use: National Agriculture in the Classroom
  • For publisher, use: Agriculture in the Classroom

2. Required source: State Fact Sheets provided by Economic Research Service

3. Required source: National Association of State Departments of Agriculture

4. To find your Agricultural college, Google "____ agricultural college" (fill the name of your state in the blank). You don't even have to go to the college's homepage - You just need the name of the college/university.
  • You also do not need to cite this because you are simply getting a college/university's name from the Google search results page.

5. Optional source: Need additional Ag related facts for your state? Try this website: Farm Flavor or you can Google for interesting agriculture facts about your state.

Citing Sources in Noodletools
  1. Make sure you are logged into Noodletools (enter your school email on the right side of the page and choose "sign in with Google")
  2. (if you haven't already) Create a new project by clicking +New Project. Name it. Choose MLA for your style. Choose Junior for your level.
  3. Switch your tab from Dashboard to Sources
  4. Click +Create New Citation.
  5. Choose Website > Webpage
  6. You will need to fill in all the info for your website. Using the template Noodletools has provided, make sure to go line by line to fill in all appropriate info. Do not just leave info out because you don't feel like looking for it!
  7. Click Save when you are done.
Exporting Your Citations From Noodletools
  1. Ensure you have cited ALL sources you plan on citing and that they are cited properly.
  2. Choose Print/Export and then Print/Export to Google Docs
  3. Your work cited document should open automatically (named "Sources for [Noodletools Project Name]") DO NOT adjust anything. The formatting is correct.
  4. Then, add your works cited doc to the assignment in classroom by clicking Add > Google Drive. Attach your works cited document.
